Description

Attributes of software that bear on its potential for complete or partial reuse in another softwareproduct.

Indicators

1. ratio reusable parts

Ratio of reusable parts of the software product to the total number of parts of the software product.

Source: QUINT

Scale: ratio

Validity: **

Protocol:

1. Measure the size of each reusable part during a certain period;

2. Measure the size of the entire software product;

3. Calculate the ratio of reused parts, which is the sum of reusable parts divided by (2).

2. ratio reused parts

Ratio of reused parts of the software product to the total number of parts of the software product.

Source: QUINT

Scale: ratio

Validity: **

Protocol:

1. Measure the size of each reused part;

2. Measure the size of the entire software product;

3. Calculate the ratio of reused parts, which is the sum of reused parts divided by (2).

Note: This indicator does not account for the number of times certain parts are reused.

Validity of this indicator also depends on "reusability-friendliness" of the organisation.

The ratio of reused parts can only be measured after the release of the software product.
