The MUSA project (1990-1992)

Synopsis

a Multi-USer Authoring system

Summary

The MUSA project is aimed at developing a multi-user authoring system, a system with which a team of people can draw up a (design) document (e.g. a travel plan, a design of a software system, etc. The MUSA system will focus on supporting the design process leading to the final document. It will do so by registering as much information as possible about the design process without imposing any particular structure on this process. This will be done by providing basic support for specific aspects of the process, such as planning and task allocation, modeling and decomposing of activities, and structuring and tracking of design discussions. The design document itself will also be a stored in the MUSA system, and it can be linked to the other data in the environment. MUSA will be implemented as an application of the Views system, developed at CWI.
